Torstein Olsen

Torstein Olsen (born 1955, Namsos, Norway) is an economist (cand. oecon.) from the University of Oslo. He has been working as an adviser in the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, within the national banking industry and assistant director with the Association of Norwegian Mortgage Banks. Torstein Olsen has been with NPT since 1995. In 1997 he was given the responsibility for developing the new Postal Authority within the established Telecommunications Authority. Since May 2001 he has been in charge of the Service Markets Department, responsible for regulation and surveillance of both post and telecommunications services and markets. In 2011 Torstein Olsen was appointed as the new Director General for NPT.

Torstein Olsen is a board member of IRG/BEREC.
