Telefonica becomes Germany’s biggest mobile operator

Telefonica announced that it has completed the acquisition of German mobile operator E-Plus.

The merger of Telefonica’s O2 unit with E-Plus creates Germany’s largest mobile operator with 41 million subscribers, the Spanish incumbent said.

It also “makes the Telefónica Group the second largest operator in Europe in terms of mobile accesses and total revenue, while at the same time enabling it to improve its growth and cash generation ratios,” it added.
