Severino Salvemini

TELECOM: Chairman of Telecom Italia Media
Severino Salvemini was born in Biella on October 21, 1950. Since April 8, 2011 he has been Chairman of Telecom Italia Media. Since June 28, 2012 he has been in charge for the strategic management and the overall
governance of the Telecom Italia Media Group, as well as for the management of extraordinary transactions and the definition – in execution of the guidelines set by the Board of Directors – of the internal control system.
Graduated in Business Administration at the Bocconi University of Milan, specialising in marketing, between 1990 and 1993 he was assistant professor of Business Administration at the University of Bologna; in 1993 he became full professor of Business Administration at the Bocconi University; between 1997 and 2000 he was Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Bocconi University responsible for international relations and extra-curricular activities; between 1999 and 2010 he was Director of the Degree Course in Economics for the Arts, Culture and Communication at the Bocconi University of Milan; between 2003 and 2006 he was President of the Business Administration School of Bocconi University.
He is currently Full Professor of Business Administration at the Bocconi University, Milan, and visiting professor at HEC Paris. During his professional career he was Chairman of Magnolia TV, Mikado S.p.A. and Film Investimenti Piemonte, as well as a Director of Banca Popolare di Milano, Milan’s La Scala Theatre, Cinecittà Holding S.p.A., Istituto Luce S.p.A., Gruppo Saiag S.p.A., the Venice Biennale, Cinemeccanica S.p.A.,
Aurora Assicurazioni S.p.A., Fondazione Unicredito, Lottomatica S.p.A., Mediacontech S.p.A., Inpartners S.p.A.-Sviluppo Immobiliare and Cargo Italia S.p.A.

He is currently Director of DeA Capital S.p.A. He has been Vice President of NED Community since 2007, and a member of the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of AGIS-Associazione Generale dell’Industria e dello Spettacolo (since 1997). He is also Chairman of the Jury for the Enzo Baldoni journalism award, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Milan Triennale and a member of the Scientific Committee of Hangar Bicocca. He is a member of the editorial team of the management studies journal “Economia e Management” and of the Scientific Committee of the International Journal of Arts Management.
