Renaud Di Francesco

Renaud Di Francesco, PhD, coordinates the Technology & Standards Operation of Sony Group for Europe. His interests include Mobile, Multimedia, Connected TV, Cinema, cross-media and platform systems and service, User Experience, M2M, consumer applications of Cloud Computing, energy, e-vehicle. In a previous position he has been in charge of the R&D partnerships and cooperative projects of Sony in Europe, director of the Digital Cinema project for cinema theatres, and a co-founder of the European Digital Cinema Forum.
Prior to Sony, he has held research, technology and business management positions at France Telecom, managing large international networks and services projects. He has also worked at the European Commission, where he was in charge of the portfolio of telecom network management, security and e-commerce in the ACTS programme, and later coordinator of the preparation of European Councils of Telecom Ministers.
After 25 years devoted to various aspects of digital technologies, he is thrilled to contribute to a new landscape in Europe, and help opportunities emerge and grow for the benefit of market and society.
