European Telecommunications Network Operators
Luigi Gambardella has long and extensive experience as an international leader in the telecoms field, and in all things digital.
For several years he has stewarded international relations for one of Europe’s biggest “telcos”, Telecom Italia, and since 2011 he has chaired the Executive Board of the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO).
Mr Gambardella’s worldwide network of top-level industry decision-makers, governments, regulators and trade organizations is unique, as are his privileged contacts throughout the global financial community and business press.
He regularly organizes C-level summits bringing together major captains of European digital industry, EU Commissioners and European national Ministers and telecommunications regulatory Chairmen.
Luigi’s standing and reputation as a primary shaper of policy transformation throughout digital industries are firmly established throughout the European region as well as the US, Central and South America, the MENA and Asia-Pacific regions.
Mr Gambardella is Telecom Italia’s Vice President for Relations with International Institutions and Organizations and Chairman of the Executive Board of the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO).
He joined the Telecom Italia Group in 1999, in charge of relations with the Italian national telecommunications regulatory authority, having previously run regulatory and Institutional affairs for Olivetti.
Luigi also serves as President of EUBrasil, the association for development of relations between Europe and Brazil; as a Board member of the Transatlantic Business Council, the European Internet Foundation and the European Round Table of Industrialists; and as President of Puntoit, the Italian association for development of the digital economy.
In addition Mr Gambardella is the BIAC Vice Chair to the OECD ICCP Committee, and a member of the Advisory and Support Group of BUSINESSEUROPE.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Economics from the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi, and pursued advanced graduate studies in EU affairs at the College of Europe.
