Jaap was appointed Chief Technology Officer within Philips Content Identification in July 2004. Before joining Philips Content Identification, Jaap worked in Philips Research in 1997 as a research scientist in the area of video watermarking. He subsequently moved on to audio watermarking, audio fingerprinting and video fingerprinting. This research led to the maturation of technologies that are currently commercialized by the Content Identification business unit. Philips Content Identification became Civolution in October 2008.
