Ivan Santos Esteras

Ivan Santos is deputy director of the Economic Analsys Department at Comisión del Mercado de las Telecomunicaciones. He joined CMT in October 2001. His work has focused primarily on competition analysis of broadband markets according to new EU electronic communications legal framework, particularly, wholesale broadband markets as well as the monitoring of retail offers from incumbent operator. He has taken part in the analysis of several complains in the Spanish market and has contributed in the design of the current methodology for the ex ante analysis of Telefonica’s retail offers. His experience also includes annual reports on the evolution of Spanish telecommunications sector and reports for the National Competition Authority in merger/abuse cases.

Iván has a BA in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, a MA in Industrial Economics from Carlos III University in Madrid and a Post Graduate in Competition Law from the King’s College. In 2010, he finalized a Program for Management Development in IESE.
