Damiano Toselli

TELECOM:  Head of Security

He was born in S. Agostino (Ferrara), Italy, on April 24, 1953. He is married and has one son. Since March 2007 Mr. Toselli has been Head of Security at Telecom Italia. After graduation, he attended security courses in England, Holland and the United States. As an official in the Carabinieri, he attended the Academy of Modena and the School of War at Civitavecchia. From 1982 to 1984 he was Company Commander in Beirut, Lebanon, with the “Tuscania” Carabinieri paratroopers. On his return to Italy, he filled a variety of posts in Milan, Rome and Cagliari. Between 1987 and 1992 he served as Head of Security for the President of the Italian Republic.
In 1994, he joined Esso Italiana, where he worked until 1998 as Security Manager, including experience in Africa and the Far East. From 1998 to 2007 he was Head of Corporate Protection at the Ferrovie dello Stato S.p.A. Group, where among other things he coordinated railway security during the 2000 Jubilee, the G8 meeting in Genoa, and the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics. From 2002 to 2009 he was Chairman of AIPSA (the Italian Association of Corporate Security Professionals).
