Brian Fitzpatrick

Brian Fitzpatrick is in charge of Transparency Engineering Team at Google and was responsible for the development of the Transparency Report which every 6 months discloses following data for 90 countries around the world:

– Real-time and historical traffic to Google services around the world;
– Numbers of removal requests we receive from copyright owners or governments;
– Numbers of user data requests we receive from government agencies and courts.

Brian Fitzpatrick also founded and now leads Google’s data liberation front, pioneering the concept of online data portability: Google Takeout allows the user to easily and quickly download a copy of his/her data stored within Google products, in order to have constant access to his/her own information, or to use this information to access services of other providers. Brian Fitzpatrick is one of the most important US engineers in the field of open source software.
He grew up in New Orleans, spent 3 years in Rome and now lives in Chicago.
