‘5G…NOW!’ On July 11 the launch of the world’s first 5G millimetric-wave in-building solution

Next July 11, JMA Wireless, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region, will present, for the first time ever, its 5G product specifically designed for companies and specifically for in-building, enterprise and factory uses: the first solution in the world to use a 5G technology with millimetric waves for this type of application.

The focus on in-building comes from the fact that about 80% of mobile communications have already taken place inside buildings, stadiums, airports, subways, etc. Furthermore, 5G will allow the development of innovative use cases in environments that, nowadays, are less explored by mobile communications, especially in the world of industrial production, radically changing the appearance of the factory of the future and making necessary technologies that allow the realization of radio covers in indoor environments of the highest quality, pervasiveness and reliability.

JMA Wireless 5G solution has been designed to meet these requirements and consists of two elements:

  • the base band component, based on the XRAN platform, the only one in the world to have created the 4G stack exclusively in software, and currently operating in commercial networks, developed entirely by the R&D department of JMA Wireless in Castel San Pietro Terme;
  • the millimetric wave radio component, studied and realized by the JMA Wireless project team based in the U.S.A., the first in the world for in-building applications.

The union of these technologies and skills has led to the development of a 5G product that will be positioned both in European markets (Italy first of all) and in the American ones.

The event “5G…NOW!” will take place at the JMA Podium at the fund “Comella” in Castel San Pietro Terme (BO) and will be held with the following indicative program: at 5:00pm there will be a presentation to the specialized technical press, at 6:00pm the presentation conference, followed by a networking aperitif.
